EMEA d.o.o. has been a family medical representative and distributor company since 1994.

The Company is authorized distributer for Alcon® Vision Care in Slovenia and for HECHT Contactlinsen GmbH in Slovenia and Croatia. EMEA especially focuses in the field of eye health and vision care: contact lenses, contact lenses care products and medicines to treat different eye conditions. With our experience and strong scientific ground we are offering the Market Access, Marketing and Sales, Distribution and Warehouse facilities and Product registration. We are team of experienced, skillful, dedicated and successful professionals who are committed to bring the best products, best service, strong professional and marketing support and thus to contribute to optimal eye health of the society and to create great success for our valuable partners and customers.

COMPANY HISTORY

The history of EMEA dates back to 1994, when renowned Slovenian ophthalmologist Marjan Irman found in his medical practice that the Slovenian market lacked a sufficient supply of contact lenses, contact lens care products and some medicines for treatment of different eye diseases.

During all that time, the company focus was to bringing top quality products in the field of eye health to our market and providing the best services for our partners and customers. In addition, we have been passionately providing our more than 300 customers (ophthalmologists, optometrists, masters opticians, opticians; ophthalmology medical practices; optic shops; pharmacies and wholesalers) with professional knowledge, experience, scientific and marketing support. Numerous lectures and seminars about contact lenses and their prescription, contact lens care products and medicines for treatment of different eye conditions have been organised during the years. We are especially proud of our dedicated collaboration with distinguished partners, valuable customers and strong professional foundations that has helped to mould the Slovenian eye health field into what it is today.

Špela Savšek
M. Pharm

Head of Sales

Špela joined the company in 2022. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana. She has several years of knowledge and experience in pharmacy, medicine, medical devices, food supplements, leadership, sales and marketing. Špela is the contact person for any questions relating to contact lenses and contact lens care products, sales, marketing and our overall company services.

Špela Irman
PhD, M. Pharm.

CEO and owner

Strongly connected with the family enterprise and its culture since the very beginning, she started working in the company as a student of Pharmacy in 1997. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and a Master’s degree in Biomedicine from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana. She has several years of knowledge and experience in leadership (Novartis, Emea), development and manufacturing of parenteral final dosage forms (Sandoz, Novartis), project management, sales, marketing, contact lenses, contact lens care products, ophthalmics, immunology, biophysics and European Patent Law provisions. Špela is the contact person for any questions relating to products, services, sales, marketing, finances, including business and professional directions of the Company.

Marjan Irman
MD, spec. ophthalm.

Founder

The renowned Slovenian ophthalmologist, founder, former owner and CEO of the family company. He was performing advanced contact lens prescriptions already during his first years as an ophthalmologist in the 90’s. His passion and indispensable eye surgery skills resulted in many country-first operations, among them he was the first in the Slovenia / Croatia region to perform laser dioptre surgery (1996).

Jaka Švajger

IT & marketing

Jaka graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. He is a highly skilled Software Architect that gained experience from various healthcare, automatisation and ERP projects. Within the company, he takes care of digital marketing, web applications, IT infrastructure and business process optimisation.
